Welcome to a fresh installment of TECHNIQUE OF THE WEEK. It’s been a while since we’ve had one of these and we’re thrilled to bring the series back. In this brand new technique video, you can watch as Dr. Kevin Brown (Bellevue, WA) repairs a Class IV fracture on Tooth #9, using OMNICHROMA, OMNICHROMA Blocker, and a Mylar strip.

To learn more about Blocker, visit: https://omnichroma.com/us/blocker/.

NOTE: OMNICHROMA BLOCKER is indicated for:

– Preventing shade-matching interference in large Class III and Class IV restorations
– Masking amalgam staining
– Masking dark dentition and dentin
– Reconstructing a highly opaque tooth

OMNICHROMA BLOCKER is a supplementary product to OMNICHROMA. In large Class III and IV cases, OMNICHROMA may experience shade-matching interference due to a lack of surrounding tooth structure and/or dentition. OMNICHROMA BLOCKER is a supplementary material that can be used in conjunction with OMNICHROMA as a lingual layer to prevent shade-matching interference in these cases. OMNICHROMA BLOCKER can also be used to mask staining, or to reconstruct a highly opaque tooth.

Greater Curve Matrix Class II Restoration https://www.dentistrytoday.com/products/greater-curve-matrix-class-ii-restoration/ https://www.dentistrytoday.com/products/greater-curve-matrix-class-ii-restoration/#respond Tue, 27 Aug 2019 18:48:17 +0000 https://www.dentistrytoday.com/?p=57504 Dentists have a love hate relationship with Class II composites. Love them when your composites looks and perform like a tooth. Hate them when your work falls short of your expectations. I’m Dr. Dennis Brown. I know your frustration, which compelled me to develop the Greater Curve technique. It is very simple. Predictably shape contacts with width and depth, just like nature. Difficult Class II cases such as MOD’s, deep root decay, large embrasure spaces and teeth with short clinical crowns all can be managed efficiently with the Greater Curve technique. This is not all. The Greater Curve technique works well for Class III and Class IV restorations. You can throw away those awkward mylar strips. For sub gingival Class V’s isolation and visibility is remarkable. Visit www.greatercurve.com and click on my clinical tips link to see all the possibilities.

Full Arch Case using BISCO’s Z-Prime Plus & TheraCem https://www.dentistrytoday.com/products/full-arch-case-using-bisco-s-z-prime-plus-theracem/ https://www.dentistrytoday.com/products/full-arch-case-using-bisco-s-z-prime-plus-theracem/#respond Thu, 30 Aug 2018 06:50:29 +0000 https://www.dentistrytoday.com/?p=54254 Patients who have reduced the clinical height of their teeth due to bruxism represent one of the most difficult restorative challenges due to potential issues with the retention form of the preparations and issues with porcelain chipping and fracture. In this case, TheraCem self-adhesive, resin cement, and semi-translucent, full-contour zirconia restorations were chosen to address these issues, respectively. TheraCem was the ideal choice to minimize contamination issues inherent with the subgingival margins of the preparations, which were needed to maximize retention and longevity of the restorations. Also, a novel modification to the presintered zirconia was performed to better match the shade of the pontic with the abutments.

In this technique video from CAO Group, Inc, you will see how SheerWhite! In-Office Teeth Whitening Strips are easily applied in just one minute. Most in-office teeth whitening protocols require lengthy chair time, isolation, multiple applications of gel, or expensive lighting equipment and significant assistant or RDH time. After one minute of application with SheerWhite!, the patient can return to the waiting area for the duration of its use. The advanced SheerFilm technology provides a consistent delivery of the powerful 20% hydrogen peroxide against the teeth. Patients often see results of up to 3 shades whiter with one application.

The Cementation Revolution From BISCO https://www.dentistrytoday.com/products/the-cementation-revolution-from-bisco/ https://www.dentistrytoday.com/products/the-cementation-revolution-from-bisco/#respond Sun, 27 Aug 2017 00:00:00 +0000 https://www.dentistrytoday.com/?p=51336

BISCO’s informative video for its revolutionary TheraCem cement demonstrates the product’s unique properties using a refreshingly light-humored approach in a chart-based, easy-to-follow, 1.5-minute online message. The video shows that the dual-cured, calcium- and fluoride-releasing, self-adhesive resin cement is used for luting crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and all types of posts. Its high degree of conversion is also clearly shown. TheraCem delivers a strong bond to zirconia and most substrates, along with easy clean up and high radiopacity. It offers clinicians reliable and durable cementation of most indirect restorations and allows them to simplify their cementation protocols and the overall restorative process—decreasing chair time and increasing peace of mind while providing patients with indirect restorations that are retentive and durable.

Educating Patients About Occlusal Disease https://www.dentistrytoday.com/products/educating-patients-about-occlusal-disease/ https://www.dentistrytoday.com/products/educating-patients-about-occlusal-disease/#respond Fri, 28 Oct 2016 00:00:00 +0000 https://www.dentistrytoday.com/?p=49268 Dr. Jose-Luis Ruiz leads this instructional video about occlusal disease, and explains how to teach your patients more about this condition. Nearly 90% of the population has occlusal disease but are unaware of it. Often, Dr. Ruiz says, after they are told that they have severe wear, they refuse to accept that they even grind their teeth. So how to best get the message across? In this practical video, Dr. Ruiz shows a clinical examination, and how patients’ paradigms can be changed in just 3 minutes.
